Lesson 34 | Generational iniquity
Summary of key points
- God is faithful and guarantees a blessing on everything we do when we love and obey Him.
- But we can choose to deny and reject God. By doing so, we deny ourselves of His blessings. We fall away from God’s protection and will open ourselves and our families up to curses that get passed down to future generations.
- There are three categories of sin; these are sin, transgressions, and iniquity. It is iniquity that causes generational curses (with examples of iniquity).
- Many of the consequences of family iniquity can be found in Deuteronomy 28 (with examples).
- We need to confess our families iniquity and turn away from their patterns. We need to be grafted into Jesus so that we can begin to bear good fruit.
Group reflection questions
- Draw up your family tree up to four generations. What forms of iniquity do you notice?
- How has your life reflected the same patterns?
