Lesson 27 | Know your enemy

Course
Summary of key points
  1. Satan has various titles and names, but he is primarily a deceiver.
  2. The devil and his demons are “scammers”. They lure us with the things of this world and tempt us to dismiss God’s commands. Once they have trapped us, they oppress and accuse us.
  3. Satan and his demons have no real power over us when we repent of our sin in Jesus’ name.
  4. The Bible also shows us numerous other things that Satan and demons cannot do to believers (with 5 examples).
  5. God is good. He has not only given us knowledge of Satan’s schemes but God has also given authority over all the power of our enemy through Jesus’ work on the cross.
  6. The world has taught us to fear demons through lies (with 5 examples).
  7. We need to remember to stay humble before God, rely on the Holy Spirit, and be part of a spiritually mature community of believers.
  8. Hell was created for Satan and his demons, not for people, but if we continue to live in sin in direct rebellion against God, we will follow Satan to the eternal fire as well.
  9. We need to be thankful for Jesus’ work on the cross.
