Lesson 29 | Overcome spiritual attacks

Summary of key points

1. The specific term, spiritual attack, is not found in the Bible. The Bible talks about enduring tests, tribulations, trials, persecution, suffering, and sorrows in this fallen world.
2. God rescues the godly from trials and fills us with His Spirit. 
3. Jesus has already broken the power of the enemy.
4. When God allows us to go through tests, it is for a higher purpose and for our good. Spiritual tests train believers and test our faith (with eight examples).
5. Satan and demons will test our loyalty to God in five ways.
   • They tempt us to chase after our worldly desires.
   • They try to trigger us to sin by manipulating our thoughts and emotions.
   • They place obstacles in our way to try to block us from growing in Christ and building God’s Kingdom.
   • They can instigate other people to attack us personally, 
   • They will also directly torment people, if given the opportunity through un-repented iniquity
6. God’s Word teaches how to counter each one of Satan’s and demons’ strategies and tactics. Our enemy doesn’t have the final say, we do. 
7. Our best strategy is to stay humble before God, purify our hearts and remain loyal to God. Jesus is the good Shepherd who will guide and protect us.
