Lesson 32 | What is witchcraft
Summary of key points
- Satan and demons tempt us to seek for wisdom, understanding, counsel, power and knowledge, but outside of God, without the fear of the Lord. This is in essence, what witchcraft is about.
- At the heart of witchcraft is the desire to manipulate reality according to our personal goals and desires. We want to play god. It is a form of rebellion.
- Witchcraft is so prevalent that we have become desensitised to it (with examples).
- Witchcraft and sorcery cleverly target the desires of our sinful nature.
- Any form of witchcraft subjugates people to demonic manipulation and control, no matter how innocent or common the rituals may seem to be.
- Witchcraft joins us back to Satan and demons. This is why any believer who practises witchcraft will be cast into hell.
- When a believer is under the influence of witchcraft, it can appear as if they are in some sort of trance and the truth can’t seem to get through to them (with 8 examples).
- Repenting of witchcraft restores our relationship with the Holy Spirit and He can begin a greater work in our lives (with guided prayer).
Group reflection questions

- The things we wear can also invite witchcraft spirits. Can you give a few examples?
