Deliverance
Jesus has said that we need to renounce all that we have before we can be His disciple. This is an important step in becoming a faithful follower of Christ. Renunciation is particularly important before we conduct any deliverance from evil spirits that may have gained a foothold in our lives, whether through our own sins or our ancestors’ iniquities. It removes the legal rights that demons use to remain hidden and it loosens their grip. Here’s a prayer of renunciation and dedication to Christ, so that we can command unclean spirits that may be in hiding to leave us in Jesus’ name. The Holy Spirit joins with our spirit once we are water baptised. He will help us drive out any unclean spirit that may still be attached to our soul. Praise God for His victory over the power of sin, death, and darkness in us!

Important note: You are cautioned do pray the following prayer in the presence of other believers who are filled with the Holy Spirit, in case there are demonic manifestations. Demons prefer to hide. If they manifest, it is simply because they have no other options or legal rights to remain, so they will try to incite fear and intimidate with “theatrics”. We should not fall for such displays of desperation. Our faith is in what Jesus has done for us on the cross. Hence, we should never give in to fear and never give up. We have not been given a spirit of fear, but of “power, love and self-discipline”. The Lord has called us to be “a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession” and we should never tolerate the presence of the enemy in our camp, to come kill, steal, and destroy. The Lord has give us authority over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall hurt us.
Romans 15:13 ESV May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.
2 Timothy 1:7 ESV For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline.

To start, have one person read out the lists below. Preferably choose someone who has gone through deliverance themselves. Those who seek deliverance should repeat after him/her and pray to renounce everything possible. Demons will hide until they are called out by name, by nature, or by function. Therefore, we should be as thorough as we can, so as to leave no stone unturned.
Please add anything as the Holy Spirit brings inspiration and revelation. The Lord will help us! Remember that the very reason Jesus came was to destroy the works of the devil.
Pray for one another and calmly command all evil spirits to “come out in Jesus’ name.” The power we have comes from Jesus, we are simply vessels.
2 Timothy 2:21 ESV Therefore, if anyone cleanses himself from what is dishonorable, he will be a vessel for honorable use, set apart as holy, useful to the master of the house, ready for every good work.
Anticipate, expect, and rejoice in the Lord’s victory over our enemy. Persevere until the peace and joy of the Lord fills the person being prayed for. There will be a change in their countenance as the darkness leaves them and the Lord’s light fills their being.
Psalm 27:1 ESV ESV The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?
A prayer of renunciation for deliverance from demonic strongholds
“Dear God, Creator of heaven and earth,
I bless Your holy name forever! You are perfect, compassionate, faithful and all-supreme. You are the One who executes justice for the oppressed and sets prisoners like me free. I recognise my iniquity and the iniquity of my forefathers, and seek Your mercy and deliverance from the enemy of my soul who has deceiving and oppressing me.
Psalm 146:5-9 ESV Blessed is he whose help is the God of Jacob, whose hope is in the Lord his God, who made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them, who keeps faith forever; who executes justice for the oppressed, who gives food to the hungry. The Lord sets the prisoners free; the Lord opens the eyes of the blind. The Lord lifts up those who are bowed down; the Lord loves the righteous. The Lord watches over the sojourners; he upholds the widow and the fatherless, but the way of the wicked he brings to ruin.

Psalm 145:21 ESV My mouth will speak the praise of the Lord, and let all flesh bless his holy name forever and ever.
Father in heaven, I recognise I need to be set free from many things. Lord Jesus, You are my Deliverer, I humbly request that You deliver me from unseen bondage today.
Romans 11:26 ESV And in this way all Israel will be saved, as it is written, “The Deliverer will come from Zion, he will banish ungodliness from Jacob”;
Today, I confess my wretchedness before my fellow believers, I am here to cleanse my hands and purify my heart in the presence of the royal priesthood. I humble myself before You! Today, I give all of myself, every part of me to Jesus, I hold nothing back.

2. Blasphemy
I repent of blaspheming and judging You, God, and thinking that my ways are better than Your ways.
Matthew 7:1-2 ESV “Judge not, that you be not judged. For with the judgment you pronounce you will be judged, and with the measure you use it will be measured to you.
3. Inner vows
I renounce all inner vows that have made me the ruler of my own life, instead of God as my Lord and King. I renounce saying things such as “I will prove myself,” “I must not disappoint others,” “I will never be like my father/mother” … (please list as the Holy Spirit guides).

4. Lukewarmness
I renounce pride, unbelief, telling lies, religion, legalism, works, lukewarmness, half-heartedness, cynicism, offence, judging and mocking others, self-righteousness, prejudice, performance, perfectionism, spiritual blindness, a hardened heart and (please list as the Holy Spirit guides).

5. Denying the gospel
I renounce being ashamed of Jesus and/or the gospel at any point of my life.
Matthew 10:32-33 ESV So everyone who acknowledges me before men, I also will acknowledge before my Father who is in heaven, but whoever denies me before men, I also will deny before my Father who is in heaven.
6. Earthly identities
Lord, my primary identity is a believer in Christ. Today, I put down my earthly identity as a child of (names of parents), I belong to God first and foremost. I put down my other earthly identities such as _____ (career identity), _____ (ethnic group), a mother/father, (please list as the Holy Spirit guides).
Luke 14:26 NLT “If you want to be my disciple, you must, by comparison, hate everyone else—your father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters—yes, even your own life. Otherwise, you cannot be my disciple.

7. Self-condemnation
I renounce every agreement with ungodly thoughts since conception that “I am not good enough,” “God will not love someone like me,” (please list as the Holy Spirit guides).

8. Fear
I renounce all forms of fear, including fear of death, fear of failure, fear of rejection, fear of abandonment, (please list as the Holy Spirit guides).

I renounce all false gods, idols, and religions, including all forms of Buddhism, Taoism, Shintoism, Islam, Chinese folk religions, Confucianism, Hinduism, Sikhism, New Age, aboriginal or tribal religions, (please list as the Holy Spirit guides).

10. Generational iniquity
In Jesus’ name, I break every personal and generational curse that has given demons legal rights to me, I break every demonic contract now … whether through blood sacrifices, animal sacrifices, human sacrifices, altars, offerings, incense burning, lucky charms, rituals, spirit guides, worship of false gods and humans, emperor or king worship, ancestor worship and connecting with the dead, witchcraft, witch doctors and herbal healing, divination, sorcery, fengshui, all forms of martial arts, philosophy, works of the flesh (Galatians 5:19-21): sexual immorality, incest, adultery, molestation, homosexuality, lesbianism, transgender identity, eunuchs, prostitution, pornography, pedophilia, sexual perversions, sex with animals, rape, lust, masturbation, polygamy (multiple spouses), impurity, sensuality, idolatry, sorcery, voodoo, enmity, strife, jealousy, unforgiveness, bitterness, fits of anger, grief, sorrow, shame, self-pity, self-victimisation, self-hatred, self-rejection, narcissism, resentment, coveting, gossip, slander, distrust, lying, cheating, swindling, control, manipulation, filial piety, rivalries, dissensions, divisions, envy, drunkenness, orgies, drugs, pharmakeia, abortion, murder, bloodshed, suicide, self-harm, abuse, violence, trauma, slavery, feet binding, self-harm, orphans, torture and torment, sexual dreams, nightmares, divorce, pagan wedding rituals, ghost weddings, ghost stories, ghost worship, child marriage, pagan funeral rituals, grave digging, money worship, poverty, gambling, addictions, and (please list as the Holy Spirit guides).

You shall not bow down to them or serve them, for I the Lord your God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children to the third and the fourth generation of those who hate me, but showing steadfast love to thousands of those who love me and keep my commandments.

11. Sickness and affliction
I renounce all mental illnesses, including ADHD, depression, schizophrenia, anxiety, bipolar disorder, forgetfulness, a blank mind, lost memories, dementia, as well as eating disorders, identity confusion, social anxiety (please list as the Holy Spirit guides).
2 Corinthians 4:4 ESV In their case the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, to keep them from seeing the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.

12. Manipulation and addiction
I renounce all alterations to my body, the temple of the Holy Spirit, and turning to man to manipulate my body to my own wishes, I renounce playing god over my body and my children, such as IVF, ICT … (please list as the Holy Spirit guides).
1 Corinthians 6:19-20 ESV Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body.

I renounce oaths, dedications, contracts, and covenants made by me, by my family and in-laws, by my ancestors, by my clan, by my ethnic tribe, by my nationality, by my city to people, the dead, ancestors, spiritual powers, temples, secret societies, triads, organisations, and nations, I render them powerless in the name of Jesus.

16. Ungodly yokes and soul ties
I renounce any connection and soul tie, known or not unknown, to temples, shrines, cults, village or ancestral spirits, false gods, kings and queens worshipped, religions, witches, wizards, fortune tellers, mediums, sorcerers, and (please list as the Holy Spirit guides).

Holy Spirit, I give you permission to open every door in my temple that has been closed to You or has been defiled, to locate every demonic spirit and to cast them out.
Satan and every demon hiding, concealed inside me, I do not want you in my mind, my soul, my heart, my body, my emotions any longer. In the name of Jesus Christ, I order you to go now and never come back.
