Abortion

Prayers
There is nothing in creation, big or small, that God has not personally woven together. That includes every molecule and cell that forms our DNA. God knits each child in its womb, gives it a heavenly name, plans its life ahead, and cares intensely for it. The world, however, preaches that unborn fetuses are of little value and that abortion is a legal human right.

(See Chinese versions: 简体中文 > 堕胎 | 繁體中文 > 墮胎 )

This grieves God and puts us on the wrong side of His Law. Here is a prayer to repent of unknowingly or intentionally taking part in the abortion of any child. God is faithful and will forgive us when we go to Him with a heart that is truly remorseful.

Psalm 139:13-16 ESV 13 For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well. My frame was not hidden from you, when I was being made in secret, intricately woven in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed substance; in your book were written, every one of them, the days that were formed for me, when as yet there was none of them.

Isaiah 49:1 ESV Listen to me, O coastlands, and give attention, you peoples from afar. The Lord called me from the womb, from the body of my mother he named my name.

1 John 1:9 ESV  If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

A prayer to repent of abortion

“Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank you for bringing me into this world to spread Your goodness and life to those around me. I have had the privilege of living, because You are the One who chose me to be formed, breathed life into me, and loved me while I was still in my mother’s womb. Please forgive me for my spiritual ignorance in the past.

Job 10:11-12 ESV You clothed me with skin and flesh, and knit me together with bones and sinews. You have granted me life and steadfast love, and your care has preserved my spirit.

Acts 17:30 ESV  The times of ignorance God overlooked, but now he commands all people everywhere to repent,

Thank you that You knew that one day, I would take away an unborn life and yet You still decided to give me life anyway. Thank you for Your mercy and grace, and that Jesus’ murder by crucifixion will pay the price for any murder I will ever commit. Thank you, Jesus, for your painful sacrifice of Yourself for me. I repent of ever taking Your death for granted and I repent of the murder of one (or more) of Your children. I bow my heart before You and humbly ask for Your forgiveness.

There is no excuse for murder. Please release me from the guilt for shedding innocent blood. Jesus came to give me life and I was unaware that abortion aligns me with Satan, who seeks to kill and destroy. I had bowed down to his lies and murderous schemes in the past. Today, I bow before my Creator, the King of kings and Lord of lords, and revoke any covenant I made with Satan through the human blood I had shed. In the name of Jesus, I reject and command the father of lies and the spirit of death to leave me.

Genesis 9:6 ESV  “Whoever sheds the blood of man, by man shall his blood be shed, for God made man in his own image.

John 8:44 ESV  You are of your father the devil, and your will is to do your father’s desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks out of his own character, for he is a liar and the father of lies.

I also cut spiritual ties with the abortion clinic, the people who encouraged or condoned the abortion, and the people who helped me with the destruction of life. Please also bring them to an awareness of Your truth and the grace You also extend to them if they choose to repent before You. I also release forgiveness to (name anyone who comes to mind).

Thank you, Heavenly Father, that there is no sin You will not forgive, except the sin of blaspheming against Your Holy Spirit. Abortion is one of many sins You will overlook when we humble ourselves and confess to You.

Matthew 12:31 ESV  Therefore I tell you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven people, but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven.

Please renew the womb that was once a place of murder and restore the mother’s body to become a new starting point of Your spiritual blessings and life.

Father, thank you that You don’t hold my sins against me after I confess and repent. You even promise to forget about the abortion/s after I have repented and to welcome me back with singing and rejoicing. You also promise to no longer condemn me for my error. These are amazing facts. You are a perfect, redeeming Father. Nothing compares with Your perfect love. I’m so humbled and in awe of You. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Isaiah 43:25 ESV  “I, I am he who blots out your transgressions for my own sake, and I will not remember your sins.

Luke 15:7 ESV  Just so, I tell you, there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who need no repentance.

Today, I also forgive myself and reject all spirits of guilt, fear, shame, and self-condemnation in Jesus’ name. Father, when I struggle to forgive myself, please remind me that Your love is perfect, not petty or calculating, and that You have already forgotten my sins even at this very second. Thank you that all You ask of me is to love You and follow You, to turn away from the evil ways of this world, and to remember all that You teach me from the Bible so I don’t continue to sin against You.

Psalm 119:11-12 ESV I have stored up your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you. Blessed are you, O LORD; teach me your statutes!

Please give me opportunities to testify of Your great love and forgiveness. I will not allow any spirit of shame or accusation to keep me in darkness or to hold me back from glorifying You. I will walk in the eternal life that You have freely given to me and honour You for the rest of my days.

Romans 6:22-23 ESV But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves of God, the fruit you get leads to sanctification and its end, eternal life. For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

In Jesus’ name, amen!
