Horoscope / Zodiac

Have you or your family ever been curious or anxious about your future and checked your horoscope or zodiac sign? No matter what our initial reason may be, such “readings” only lure us away from bowing to God Almighty and seeking His direction. Moreover, it gives ungodly spirits access to our lives and souls. Here is a prayer to break their influence.

Isaiah 47:13-14 NLT  All the advice you receive has made you tired. Where are all your astrologers, those stargazers who make predictions each month? Let them stand up and save you from what the future holds. But they are like straw burning in a fire; they cannot save themselves from the flame. You will get no help from them at all; their hearth is no place to sit for warmth.

A prayer to break off curses from horoscopes and the zodiac

“Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank you for choosing the time and place for my birth. Even before I was born, You had already chosen a name for me and chosen me for good works that will bring You glory. I praise You for this.

Acts 17:24-27 ESV  The God who made the world and everything in it, being Lord of heaven and earth, does not live in temples made by man, nor is he served by human hands, as though he needed anything, since he himself gives to all mankind life and breath and everything. And he made from one man every nation of mankind to live on all the face of the earth, having determined allotted periods and the boundaries of their dwelling place, that they should seek God, and perhaps feel their way toward him and find him…

Ephesians 2:10 ESV  For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.

Today, I wholeheartedly repent of following man-made myths and believing in the power of the sun and stars, the elements of this earth, as well as birds, animals and fish that You have created, and giving them power over my life through the false belief in horoscopes and zodiac signs.

1 Timothy 4:7 ESV  Have nothing to do with irreverent, silly myths. Rather train yourself for godliness;

Deuteronomy 4:16-19 NLT  So do not corrupt yourselves by making an idol in any form—whether of a man or a woman, an animal on the ground, a bird in the sky, a small animal that scurries along the ground, or a fish in the deepest sea. And when you look up into the sky and see the sun, moon, and stars—all the forces of heaven—don’t be seduced into worshiping them. The Lord your God gave them to all the peoples of the earth.

I acknowledge that all these are forms of witchcraft which people have devised in order to attempt to foretell our futures and control our destinies, instead of choosing You and submitting to Your will. I confess that I and/or my family have been foolish in following these myths as a result of our own fleshly desires; curiosity, fear, loneliness, greed, and lust for power and control. Father in heaven, please forgive me and have mercy on my family. Today, I humble myself before You and choose You first.

Romans 1:21-25 ESV  For although they knew God, they did not honor him as God or give thanks to him, but they became futile in their thinking, and their foolish hearts were darkened. Claiming to be wise, they became fools, and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images resembling mortal man and birds and animals and creeping things. Therefore God gave them up in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, to the dishonoring of their bodies among themselves, because they exchanged the truth about God for a lie and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever! Amen.

I repent for each time I and/or my family have sought a diviner, geomancer, fortuneteller, or spiritual advisor, for the “best” plans for my life based on my date of birth. I acknowledge that You hate such acts, and they will destroy me and bring curses to my life.

Deuteronomy 18:10-14 NLT  … And do not let your people practice fortune-telling, or use sorcery, or interpret omens, or engage in witchcraft, or cast spells, or function as mediums or psychics, or call forth the spirits of the dead. Anyone who does these things is detestable to the Lord. It is because the other nations have done these detestable things that the Lord your God will drive them out ahead of you. But you must be blameless before the Lord your God… the Lord your God forbids you to do such things.”

I also renounce any divination or birth chart that has been used to select or “bless” my name based on a false faith in horoscopes, zodiac signs, and the five elements of water, earth, fire, metal, and wood (or others that are relevant to you.)

I declare that I am not made in the image of any horoscope or zodiac sign, but made in the image of God. My fate does not lie in any person’s ability to read the stars, which are merely planets under God’s sovereign control, or in any energy flowing through the universe. Mankind was created to have dominion over the creatures that God created, not the other way around. What God has created has no right to “rule” or have a say over our lives.

Genesis 1:26-27 ESV  Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness. And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over the livestock and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.

Deuteronomy 17:2-3,5 ESV  “If there is found among you, … has gone and served other gods and worshiped them, or the sun or the moon or any of the host of heaven, which I have forbidden … you shall stone that man or woman to death with stones.

My life lies in the hands of God who created the entire universe, who decides my next breath, and who loves me so much He sent His only Son to die for me. What a grievous mistake I have made to look for meaning and purpose outside of You, oh God! Please forgive me.

Isaiah 42:5 ESV   Thus says God, the LORD, who created the heavens and stretched them out, who spread out the earth and what comes from it, who gives breath to the people on it and spirit to those who walk in it:

I also revoke everything that has been spoken over me by family members and sorcerers while I was in my mother’s womb or as an infant, about my character, health, wealth, friendships, marriage, career, lifespan, and so forth. I break all these curses upon me in Jesus’ name and declare that it is God Almighty who decides all these things.

Proverbs 19:21 ESV  Many are the plans in the mind of a man, but it is the purpose of the Lord that will stand.

I repent of falling for such superstitions and deciding what I should do, what I should wear, and what I should pursue as a result. There is no such thing as good luck or bad luck when God is the one who decides everything for us beforehand. He decides all blessings or curses. Therefore, I repent of all rituals I have taken part in for good luck and the prevention of bad luck. Such practices only brought on more anxiety and pride and robbed me of God’s true love, hope, and peace.

Jeremiah 27:9-10 ESV  So do not listen to your prophets, your diviners, your dreamers, your fortune-tellers, or your sorcerers… For it is a lie that they are prophesying to you, with the result that you will be removed far from your land, and I will drive you out, and you will perish.

Today, I hereby burn and destroy all images, scrolls, household lucky charms, and other objects (physical or digital) provided by these fortunetellers, and declare that they have no power over me in Jesus’ name. I ask for the cleansing of all devices used for divination and horoscopes. 

Acts 19:19 NLT  A number of them who had been practicing sorcery brought their incantation books and burned them at a public bonfire. The value of the books was several million dollars.

I repent for using the money that God has given me to make sacrifices and pay for occult activities and objects. By doing so, I have given demonic powers access to my family‘s life as a result of turning to witchcraft.

Deuteronomy 32:16-18 ESV  They stirred him to jealousy with strange gods; with abominations they provoked him to anger. They sacrificed to demons that were no gods, to gods they had never known, to new gods that had come recently, whom your fathers had never dreaded. You were unmindful of the Rock that bore you, and you forgot the God who gave you birth.

I cut ungodly soul ties with all diviners, fortunetellers and family members that I have been yoked to, and command all unclean spirits related to these people to leave me now, in Jesus’ name, never to return. I specifically name the ungodly spirits relating to (please name all forms of horoscope activities, rituals and beliefs.)

2 Corinthians 6:16 ESV   What agreement has the temple of God with idols? For we are the temple of the living God; as God said, “I will make my dwelling among them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.

Leviticus 19:26 ESV  … You shall not interpret omens or tell fortunes.

Today, I turn to follow Jesus Christ as my only Lord and Saviour with all my heart, mind, and soul, and put away all witchcraft and superstitions. I also declare that I will study God’s Word and follow His Spirit alone. Thank you, God, that You do not condemn me for my ignorance in the past and welcome me when I repent. Thank you for the newness of life that comes from Your Holy Spirit. I praise You for Your grace, compassion and great love for me and my family.

Philippians 2:12-13 ESV  Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, so now, not only as in my presence but much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who works in you, both to will and to work for his good pleasure. 

Please renew me as I put off my old self and pursue holiness in Your image. Show me how to bring Your love and truth to my family so that they may also turn away from falsehood and follow You. Please use my life for Your glory! Thank you, Father.

Ephesians 4:17-25 ESV … you must no longer walk as the Gentiles do, in the futility of their minds. They are darkened in their understanding, alienated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them, due to their hardness of heart. They have become callous and have given themselves up to sensuality, greedy to practice every kind of impurity. But that is not the way you learned Christ!— assuming that you have heard about him and were taught in him, as the truth is in Jesus, to put off your old self, which belongs to your former manner of life and is corrupt through deceitful desires, and to be renewed in the spirit of your minds, and to put on the new self, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness.  Therefore, having put away falsehood, let each one of you speak the truth with his neighbor, for we are members one of another.

In Jesus’ name, I pray, amen.”
