Church in Last Days
The apostle Paul warned that the end times will be difficult times for churches. The challenges that we face will not just be from outside the church but from within. Any corruption of any church anywhere is an assault on God’s good name, and we are called to be persistent in our prayers for “all believers everywhere”. Here is how we can pray for our churches in the Last Days.

2 Timothy 3:13 NLT … evil people and impostors will flourish. They will deceive others and will themselves be deceived.
Ephesians 6:18 NLT Pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion. Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all believers everywhere.
A prayer for Jesus Christ’s beloved churches in the Last Days
“Dear Heavenly Father,
Many of us in Your church have lost our way and urgently need the Holy Spirit’s conviction to turn wholeheartedly back to Your Holiness. We confess we have made faith about our earthly interests and carnal comforts, rather than fully for Your great name and glory.
With regards to my church, I confess that we have (name any deviations from God’s Word). Please forgive us. May our pastors and leaders recognise the need to continually cleanse our hands and purify our hearts before Your holy throne, so we are worthy bearers of Your light.
James 4:8-10 ESV Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded. Be wretched and mourn and weep. Let your laughter be turned to mourning and your joy to gloom. Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will exalt you.
I confess we have allowed the ways of this world to pollute our hearts and compromise our commitment to Christ. Please have mercy and lead us to the knowledge of the Truth.
Where there is any darkness hiding in our church teachings or in the hearts of our leaders, please bring them to light. Give us knowledge that comes from Your Holy Spirit and show us how to discern what pleases You.
Ephesians 5:8-11 ESV …Walk as children of light (for the fruit of light is found in all that is good and right and true), and try to discern what is pleasing to the Lord. Take no part in the unfruitful works of darkness, but instead expose them.
May You call forth fearless people to wake us up. Let us not be like the believers that Jesus described in Luke 17, who will be caught indulging in our own pleasures when He returns.
Luke 17:28-30 ESV Likewise, just as it was in the days of Lot—they were eating and drinking, buying and selling, planting and building, but on the day when Lot went out from Sodom, fire and sulfur rained from heaven and destroyed them all— so will it be on the day when the Son of Man is revealed.
Luke 12:37 ESV Blessed are those servants whom the master finds awake when he comes.
In Jesus’ name, we bind and expel any spiritual pride, deceit and rebellion that operates in our church that blind us from following You with all our hearts, souls, strength and minds. The Bible warns that many will be lost and not inherit eternal life otherwise.
Luke 10:25-27 ESV And behold, a lawyer stood up to put him to the test, saying, “Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?” And he answered, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind, and your neighbor as yourself.”
We bind the evil strongholds that have entered our church, particularly that of (name any strongholds as the Holy Spirit leads) in Jesus’ name, for the glory of our Father in heaven.
Help us have true grit and courage even when we face persecution. Raise up mature believers who will bless those who curse us and pray for those who persecute us.
1 Peter 4:12-14 ESV Beloved, do not be surprised at the fiery trial when it comes upon you to test you, as though something strange were happening to you. But rejoice insofar as you share Christ’s sufferings, that you may also rejoice and be glad when his glory is revealed. If you are insulted for the name of Christ, you are blessed, because the Spirit of glory and of God rests upon you.
Luke 6:28 ESV “But I say to you who hear, Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who abuse you.
Jesus, please redeem and restore Your bride to purity. We welcome Your work to wash us with Your Word and Truth. We want to be a people whose ways are blameless and who seek You with all our hearts.
Ephesians 5:25-27 ESV … Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her, that he might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word, so that he might present the church to himself in splendor, without spot or wrinkle or any such thing, that she might be holy and without blemish.
Psalm 119:1-3 ESV Blessed are those whose way is blameless, who walk in the law of the Lord! Blessed are those who keep his testimonies, who seek him with their whole heart, who also do no wrong, but walk in his ways!
In Jesus’ name, we pray, amen!“
