Friend in trouble
All believers are called to bear one another’s burdens and pray for one another. As we go through trials and challenges, we all need a little support and comfort. If we remain steadfast and loyal to God, He promises us a “crown of life.” Let us keep this mind as we pray for a friend who is going through a difficult time.

Galatians 6:2 ESV Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.
James 1:12 ESV Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love him.
A prayer for a friend in trouble
“Dear Heavenly Father,
I pray for my friend (insert name) and thank you that You are always in control of all circumstances. We cannot see the outcome of this difficult time but You tell us not to fear, because You are always with us, and even foresaw this day even before we were born.
Isaiah 41:10 ESV fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
So we place our confidence in Jesus Christ who said He will carry our burdens with us. Help us to learn from Jesus’ example, by continuing to be humble, gracious and wise, practising self-control at all times.
Matthew 11:29 ESV Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.
Whatever schemes that Satan has planted to steal our peace, joy and hope in Jesus Christ, we declare that no scheme of the enemy will prevail. Only the Lord’s plans and purposes will be fulfilled. We will not be overcome by the wickedness of this world.
Proverbs 16:4 ESV The LORD has made everything for its purpose, even the wicked for the day of trouble.
Heavenly Father, I humbly ask that You guard all of my friend’s (insert name) thoughts, actions and words. May Your wisdom and power fill him/her!
Please give my friend (insert name) the strength, peace, and wisdom needed during this time of trouble. May he/she be comforted by the Holy Spirit and remember that Your goodness never fails. Thank you for being the God of all comfort.
2 Corinthians 1:3-4 ESV Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.
Thank you, Father, that all the challenges we face can one day turn into testimonies of Your power and love. We will wait for You to deliver us in the way that glorifies You the most. Thank you for this opportunity to honour You.
