Jesus renews business owner through His truth and love
E had been struggling in her family relationships and in business, without feeling the peace and joy from the Lord. Instead, she felt confused, emotional, easily angered, impatient and burdened, unaware of what it means to live in Christ. After she began a discipleship course and underwent a few rounds of deliverance, E has been able to see parts of her life set right. False conceptions were revealed and untangled, and misunderstandings were replaced with truth. Because of this, she no longer feels stuck and is learning to walk forward with freedom. Praise God!

It is by the grace of God that I am able to write this testimony.
My faith journey with Father God was, for a long time, lukewarm. I attended church, participated in fellowship groups, and attended church workshops from time to time. I genuinely believed that because I was involved, I was doing the “right” thing – and that I was saved, secured, and spiritually okay.
But at the same time, I was fighting addiction to shopping. Worrisome and daily struggles continued with my work. I also longed for reconciliation with my father and brother, not fully knowing what had gone wrong between us. Then, at one point, my business began to decline. I didn’t know what to do, and I felt overwhelmed and unsure how to move forward. Fellow brothers- and sisters-in-Christ prayed for me. I felt better “sometimes” but I knew something was missing. I didn’t feel strengthened and I wasn’t experiencing the kind of peace and joy the Bible speaks about – peace and joy that are not based on circumstances, but that come from God, regardless of what we are facing. I found myself hungry for deeper understanding: Hungry to know God more intimately and hungry to learn how to live the life Jesus died for me to live – the life of true freedom.
II began to realise that, like many people, I had become a believer in theory more than in transformation.
I expected peace and security to come from things such as my comfort, what I had accumulated, and whether everything was going smoothly – especially in my finances. But the Bible kept reminding me that we will not have a problem-free life, and yet we are called to rely on God. I struggled to understand: But how? In short, I lived with heaviness in my heart for over a decade. I was confused, emotional, easily angered, impatient, and burdened – struggling daily with my work and with my relationships with my father and brother.
Things started to change gradually after I attended a discipleship course nearly a year ago, where I learnt about shame, the power of words, different spirits/demons that are oppressing us, ancestral ties, how God speaks, and understanding our emotions, the importance of forgiveness, etc,
Through those teachings, I began to realise – deeply and personally – that God not only speaks, but He loves me so much.
I could feel that God was drawing me closer, and transformation began in my life, especially after the deliverance sessions I attended. The Holy Spirit revealed things to me that I had buried for a long time. I began to see my past sins and hidden hurts more clearly, especially those connected to my father. The Lord also exposed idols I had worshipped knowingly and unknowingly. It felt like a thorough spiritual cleansing from the inside out. I could sense an immediate shift within my spirit. Even a hidden grudge I had carried against a sister-in-Christ was removed, and the tension gone. I felt so light – The heavy weight had been lifted off my chest. I stepped into a new sense of freedom, peace and clarity.
Through the course, I learned how many lies I have believed and how those lies can deceive us. The main lies I believed were, “God is mad at me and will not speak to me” and “I am not loved”. But it was exactly the opposite!!
I also came to understand that, sometimes without even realising it, we have given the enemy open doors to attack, torment, and oppress us.
Because of sin like unforgiveness and brokenness, there can be places we unknowingly allow the enemy access, and that is why many things can feel heavy, confusing, and exhausting.
Even as I am still learning and growing, I have been seeing real change. Although I still feel like a “teenager” in my walk with God, one truth is clear: the heaviness in my heart is no longer there. Instead of feeling burdened and defeated, I now find myself enjoying reading the Bible. It no longer feels like a checklist or something I do only out of obligation. I have come to recognise that the Bible is the Word of God – and only the truth can set us free.
My confidence has also grown. When worries come, I am learning to fight differently. I no longer rely on my own willpower. I immediately would pray and use the Word of God as a weapon – speaking and holding onto His truth – until fear loses its grip.
I can also sense the working of the Holy Spirit in me more clearly.
His prompting is becoming more obvious, and I am starting to recognise and distinguish the “small voice” more easily. I am beginning to see clearer visions, and I am more aware of Father God’s daily work in my life.
More than anything, I feel loved by Him – everyday. That is something I once doubted, but God is helping me believe again. He is healing places in me that I didn’t even know were still hurting through the inner healing and deliverance sessions. I am now able to forgive my father for whatever he has done to me, my mother and my brother. I also acknowledge my own areas of wrong and realise that I too needed God’s forgiveness. I can see my father with a new lens – with greater understanding and compassion, rather than only pain. I love my father so much, and I pray that he will come to Jesus Christ and receive Him as Lord and Savior.
Today, as I write this testimony, something significant has happened. I have reconciled with my brother after eight years of silence.
My brother had not wanted to talk to me for so long. I realised – without seeing it earlier – that I had been avoiding tension and conflict when he needed me the most eight years ago. I thought I was protecting myself and our relationship, but I later understood that my avoidance, hiding actions had contributed to the misunderstanding and disappointment he felt, especially in me as his big sister. I truly hurt and disappointed him. I went to him with humility, apologised and asked for his forgiveness.
Already, we have prayed together a few times, and I will continue to pray for his healing – physically and emotionally – as well as for God’s redemption and salvation in his life. I truly pray that he will experience Father God’s restoration, and that he will know true freedom in Christ I now do.
The next relationship I need to work on is my relationship with my earthly father.
He is turning 80 years old this month. My brother has not been able to express himself freely nor approach my father to share his needs and concerns, because my father’s unpredictable behaviour has created so much confusion. He also fears rejection and disappointment. However, he is coming with me to wish my father “Happy Birthday” in person! This in itself, is a big step.
I give God all the glory for what He has done, what He is doing, and what He will continue to do. This is only the beginning, and I am trusting Him to lead me forward with faith, growing understanding and deeper freedom.
